Cordaid is looking for a

Business Controller

(36 hours, based in The Hague)

 

 

The Business Controller is responsible for providing (senior) management with analyses, advise and input for organisation-wide strategic decision-making. He or she is the financial conscience of the organisation and is responsible for reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysing. He or she is the counterpart of the Country Office Finance Managers and departments at Global Office. The Business Controller reports to the Corporate Controller.

 

What you do  

  • You participate in an international setting including external parties like tax authorities and auditors;
  • You set up standards and guidelines for (project) budgeting and cost pricing;
  • You provide analysis on (pipeline) projects at country level and for Global Office departments;
  • You participate in the ERP-implementation project and several other project teams;
  • You review forecasts, budgets and (monthly) reports;
  • You participate in tax audits and conduct reviews and analyses on tax issues. Furthermore, you are in close contact to tax authorities and auditors;
  • You monitor and control the organisation’s cashflow and investments;
  • You monitor and control internal projects and (semi)-restricted funds;
  • You provide input to the Corporate Controller for consolidated analyses and management of running projects;
  • You determine information requirements, propose adjustments in reporting formats and coordinates improvements and implementations of BI tooling;
  • You ensure compliance with donor, fiscal and other legal requirements regulations and identify tax related risks and opportunities for Cordaid.

 

 

Who you are

  • You have in depth knowledge of financial and business administration on masters level.
  • You have working knowledge of AO/IC, laws and regulations on salaries, tax, and insurance.
  • You have working knowledge of financial managements of projects.
  • You have experience with implementation of ERP systems.
  • You have experience with designing and implementing reporting overviews in PowerBI.
  • You have at least 5 year experience in corporate control in an international setting.
  • You have proven affinity with developmental aid and SDG’s.
  • You have a sharp analytical and conceptual mind and can easily switch between details and the broader scope.
  • You have strong communication skills;
  • You are fluent in English and working experience French.

  • A gross monthly salary of € 4071,- up to € 5898,- based on a 36-hour week (excluding 8% vacation allowance and 8.3% end of year allowance), depending on years of relevant experience;
  • A position for 1 year with the possibility of extension, starting as soon as possible.
