Cordaid is looking for a

Junior Institutional Account Manager

(based in The Hague)

The aim of the Institutional Account Management team is to maximize donor retention, engagement and investment, to facilitate delivering the (social) improvements in communities in fragile contexts through implementation of projects on health services & governance, private sector development, security & justice or humanitarian aid.

As a Junior Institutional Account Manager you are responsible for delivering professional services to optimize institutional donor funding, partnership development and cooperation through identifying, sharing and coordinating institutional donor intelligence, networking and engagement and leading on funding and partnership opportunities.

Your tasks

  • Network of donor contacts and partnership relations

Build up and maintain a network of donor contacts and partnership relations with donors. Proactively identify and influence new and innovative cooperative opportunities with potential donors.

  • Fundraising opportunities

Pro-actively identify fundraising opportunities with the institutional donor(s) for Cordaid and Cordaid's programs. Show case and share expert knowledge of the donors funding modalities, ways of working, policies, strategies and planning cycles to the organisation and countries in which Cordaid operates. Lead on the selection and validation of new funding opportunities in close coordination with thematic units and country offices.

  •  Winning Bids

As Bid manager leading the BID processes of calls for proposals and tenders related to the assigned specific donor portfolio. Leading negotiations for specific assigned bids. As member of a bid team provide donor specific advise on rules, regulations and policy. Use donor contacts to ensure the winning outcome of calls and proposals. Oversee  the role division, planning and communication with the donor and a consortium in order to achieve a positive outcome for Cordaid.

  • Advise funding strategies & tools

Advise country offices and program units on funding strategies as part of their yearly plans. Analyse developments in assigned donor portfolio and signal trends which are beneficial or threatening to Cordaid. Formulate advice on a regular basis regarding sustainable funding of Cordaid. Develop and promote tailor made tools for adequate institutional fundraising.

  • Compliance check

Provide expert advice to the country offices and program units as how to adhere to donor requirements in regard to donor fund applications and project management and to maintain up-to-date knowledge and relationships with the donor agencies. Provide (donor compliance) quality and risk assessment advice to senior management of specific submissions and reports to donors.

Your profile

·       You have a bachelor or master’s degree in international development and/or sales/account management in an international setting, or equivalent;

·       You have 1-3 years’ experience in institutional account management and donor fundraising;

·       You have knowledge of fundraising, contract management, donor account management, donor rules and regulations;

·       You have writing skills to formulate institutional donor strategies;

·       You are capable of developing cooperation agreements and possess of negotiation skills;

·       You have experience in coordinating complex processes and motivating people working in a team;

·       You have the skills and attitude (social and communication) to represent Cordaid to institutional donors, built and maintain networks and to negotiate with institutional donors and strategic partners;

·       You work well under pressure, are able to prioritize and meet deadlines

·       You are fluent in English and preferably in French, both in writing and spoken language;

·       You have an entrepreneurial personality with a drive to perform and a customer focus.

·     a gross monthly salary between € 2907,- and € 4353,- based on a 36-hour working week and depending on years of relevant experience;

·     a holiday allowance of 8% and an end of year allowance of 8.3%;

·     a part-time position (32 hours) initially for one year, with the possibility for extension.
