Expert Health Systems

As an Expert Health Systems you improve the quality of health systems in developing countries in Asia and Africa. If you are someone who listens to the need of healthcare workers and patients, and manages to help them transform needs and ideas into a sustainable healthcare system that works and benefits all, then you are a good addition to our team.

What you do

In a team of senior and junior experts you work on Health System Strengthening. Cordaid’s guiding approach for strengthening the health system is Performance Based Finance (PBF). The Health expert also contributes to development and innovative approaches to reach Universal health Coverage.  As Expert Health Systems you contribute to strategic development, provide technical assistance to the programs, initiate and facilitating action research, and you’re playing an active role in knowledge sharing at global and local level.

Together with the expert team, program managers and the country teams you develop proposals for institutional donors. Product and service development, representation in health networks and research are integral part of your work. 

Who you are

  • You hold a degree in Health Economics, Global Health or Public Health, or a similar degree at Masters level. A medical background is an advantage.
  • You hold specific knowledge in at least one of the following areas: health financing, health systems, health security, quality of (primary) care, chronic diseases;
  • You have an understanding of and preferably experience in implementing Performance Based Financing
  • You have 5-7 years of experience working in global health, preferably in fragile contexts. You are able and willing to travel frequently.
  • You have excellent writing skills and experience in compiling project proposals and training programs, as well as in presenting research findings and developing new products and services.
  • You have a dynamic and energetic personality.
  • You are fluent in English and preferably in French.

 

What we offer

  • support for your personal and professional development;
  • good employment conditions;
  • a maximum gross monthly salary up to € 4857,- based on a 36-hour working week and depending on years of relevant experience;
  • a holiday allowance of 8% and an end of year allowance of 8.3%;
  • a fulltime position (36 hours) initially for one year, with the possibility for extension.
