Cordaid is looking for a

Global Accounting and Reporting Manager

(36 hours, based in The Hague)

The GA&R manager is responsible for leading the Global Office Accounting & Reporting team, consisting of 12 employees. This team is part of the Global Office Finance department, and its main areas of responsibilities include: financial control and reporting at corporate level, maintenance of the accounting records at corporate level and for the Global Office, training and support in the area of accounting and financial control; and treasury at Corporate level and for Global office. The team collaborates with internal departments at Global Office and teams at our Country / Cluster offices. The diverse team and colleagues make it a stimulating work environment.

What you do

  • You lead the team Financial Accounting & Reporting at the Cordaid Global Office;
  • You provide input and advise to the Corporate Controller on consolidated analyses, accounting guidelines and financial control topics;
  • You manage the monthly and annual closure processes;
  • You review the financial administrations and give instructions to Financial Managers at Country Office-level;
  • You develop and maintain formal Accounting Policies and Manuals;
  • You identify issues in the bookkeeping processes and implement solutions, thereby continuously improving on the quality of information produced from the Financial Administration;
  • You monitor and control the organisation’s banking instruments, as well as cashflow and investments;
  • You prepare the annual financial statements of the Stichting Cordaid Group;
  • You manage the annual external audit process;
  • You participate in tax audits and conduct reviews and analyses on tax issues. You are in close contact to tax authorities and auditors;
  • You participate in the ERP-implementation project and several other project teams;
  • You ensure compliance with donor, fiscal and other legal requirements regulations and identify tax related risks and opportunities for Cordaid.

Who you are

  • You have in depth knowledge of financial and business administration on masters level.
  • You have working knowledge of AO/IC, laws and regulations on salaries, tax, and insurance.
  • You have working knowledge of financial managements of projects.
  • You have experience with implementation of ERP systems.
  • You have proven affinity with developmental aid and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s).
  • You have a sharp analytical and conceptual mind and can easily switch between details and the broader scope;
  • You have strong communication skills;
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English.

  • A gross monthly salary of € 4532,- up to € 6567,- based on a 36-hour week (excluding 8% vacation allowance and 8.3% end of year allowance), depending on years of relevant experience;
