Job Title : System Administrator (32 or 36 hours, based in The Hague)

Job Summary:

The System Administrator is responsible for maintaining the company’s IT network, servers, and security systems. This role ensures that the organization's IT infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently, providing technical support and troubleshooting expertise to staff, and implementing solutions to enhance the overall performance and security of the IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Network and System Maintenance:

1. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and hardware.

2. Monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation of servers and network infrastructure.

3. Manage and support network configurations, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and firewalls.

User Support:

1. Provide technical support and training to end-users regarding hardware, software, and network-related issues.

2. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems promptly.

3. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.

System Upgrades and Improvements:

1. Plan and execute system upgrades and patches.

2. Research and recommend new technologies and tools to improve IT services. Document system configurations, processes, and changes.

Compliance and Documentation:

1. Ensure systems comply with company policies and industry standards.

2. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of the IT infrastructure and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in system administration or a similar role.

Skills:

Proficiency in Windows operating systems.

Strong knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and software.

Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).

Proficient in English and or French.
